HOW TO STARCH

Here’s a secret passed down by grandmothers, economical and effective, for starching a shirt perfectly.

To starch the collar and front panels of a shirt without damaging the fabric with chemicals, you can mix two cups of hot water and a tablespoon of cornstarch in a spray bottle. Once the mixture is well dissolved, dampen the entire shirt, focusing more on the collar and the parts you want to keep stiff.

Cornstarch will give your shirts a perfect starching and an unmatched sheen.

For those seeking an especially rigid result, using a damp sponge directly in the liquid, to which you add another tablespoon of starch, will be perfect. Squeeze it lightly and pass it over the parts to be starched more firmly.

1 – MIX WATER AND CORNSTARCH
2 – MIX WELL
3 – DIP THE NATURAL SPONGE
4 – SQUEEZE LIGHTLY
5 – MOISTEN THE COLLAR

The cornstarch prepared in this way SHOULD NOT BE REUSED a second time to starch shirts because, being free of preservatives, it could spoil and leave stains on the fabrics.
